Music

The Anglican heritage of worship and music, centuries old yet enriched by modern influences, is a rich and vital part of congregational life at Holy Comforter. In his letter to the Corinthians, Saint Paul encourages readers to “sing with the spirit, and with the understanding also” (1 Corinthians 14:15). This spiritual principle guides the music program at Holy Comforter, which is committed to offering music of beauty and high quality in weekly worship. The 8:00 a.m. Eucharist is a spoken liturgy with organ voluntaries and congregational hymns. During the program year (September through Trinity Sunday) the 10:00 a.m. Eucharist includes the Holy Comforter Choir. At the 12:30 p.m. Spanish service, music for guitar is featured.

Newcomers and members with musical interests and abilities are invited to contact Patrick Pope, organist and director of music, at (704) 332-4171, ext. 2212.
